Nuts Chocolate Coated Strawberries

What do you think pairs best with strawberries? For me, it's hands down chocolate! Strawberries and chocolate are a perfect match, which is why I decided to make my own Nuts Chocolate Coated Strawberries at home.

One day, I visited MUJI and saw their Chocolate Coated Strawberries on display. The price was higher than I expected, so I thought-why not make them myself? To take it up a notch, I added nuts for an extra crunch and rich, nutty flavor. The combination of juicy strawberries, smooth chocolate, and crunchy nuts makes for an irresistible treat!

Let's talk about Nuts Chocolate Coated Strawberries what do you think of this combination? Let me know in the comments! 😊

Why Add Nuts?

I used walnuts and almonds in my chocolate because I love their rich, nutty flavor. While the crisp texture of freeze-dried strawberries is nice, I felt they lacked a satisfying chew. So, I added nuts to enhance the crunchy texture.

Almonds are packed with essential nutrients like vitamin E, plant-based protein, and dietary fiber. Walnuts, on the other hand, are known for their benefits in brain health and cardiovascular health.

By combining strawberries for their tangy freshness and vitamins with nuts for their crunchy texture and nutty richness, this treat becomes the perfect balance of flavors and nutrition! 😊

Component

  • Chocolate
    • Chocolate is an essential ingredient for coating in Nuts Chocolate Coated Strawberries. To make it a bit healthier, I used dark chocolate, but milk chocolate works just as well-just use whatever you have on hand! The chocolate will be melted using a double boiler, so you'll need a heatproof bowl to melt it properly.
  • Freeze-Dried Strawberries
    • Strawberries add a delicious tangy flavor to Nuts Chocolate Coated Strawberries. You can substitute with other freeze-dried fruits, but keep in mind that fresh fruit can be tricky to coat with chocolate due to its moisture content. If you're using fresh fruit, make sure to pat it dry thoroughly before dipping it in chocolate.
  • Nuts
    • For the nuts, I used walnuts and almonds, but you can use whatever you have at home-cashews or peanuts would work great too! Just chop them finely and mix them with the melted chocolate for a perfect crunch.
Now, let's get started and make some Nuts Chocolate Coated Strawberries! 🍓🍫🥜

Nuts Chocolate Coated Strawberries

Preparation Time: 10
Cooking time: 3minutes
SPOON RANK : 🥄🥄🥄🥄🥄(5/5)

Ingredients:

  • 7 freeze-dried strawberries
  • 90g chocolate (dark or milk)
  • Nuts:
    • 8 almonds
    • 8 walnuts

Instructions:

Step 1: Chop the Nuts

Finely chop the walnuts and almonds. The smaller the pieces, the better they will stick to the chocolate and strawberries. Try to cut them as thin as possible for the best texture.

Step 2: Melt the Chocolate

Fill a bowl with hot water, then place another heatproof bowl on top to create a double boiler. Add the chocolate to the top bowl and let it melt gently. If you want to speed up the process, chop the chocolate into smaller pieces before melting.

Step 3: Mix in the Nuts

Once the chocolate is completely melted, stir in the chopped nuts. A 7:3 ratio of chocolate to nuts works best for a rich, chocolatey flavor, but if you prefer more crunch, you can adjust to a 6:4 ratio.

Step 4: Coat the Strawberries

Dip the freeze-dried strawberries into the chocolate-nut mixture, ensuring they are fully coated. Place them on parchment paper or a plate, making sure they don't touch each other. Refrigerate for about 20 minutes until fully set.

Reviews:
