Frozen Soda Jelly(Homemade Swedish Jelly)

How to Make Swedish Jelly at Home Have you heard of Swedish Jelly?
This treat went viral on TikTok and YouTube for its crunchy, snap-like texture that's super satisfying to eat.
Swedish Jelly has become a favorite ASMR snack because of its unique crispiness, but it's not exactly easy to find.
In fact, it hasn't even been imported to many places yet! If you're curious to try it but can't get your hands on it, don't worry. You can make a similar version right at home! It's quick, simple, and surprisingly close to the real thing. Let's get started!

Components

  • Jelly
    • The key ingredient for this recipe is jelly! I used Haribo gummies, but honestly, any gummy candy will work.Just go with something easy to find at your local store.
One tip: thinner gummies work best because they absorb the soda more easily during the soaking process.
Since the gummies need time to sit in the soda, thinner ones allow the carbonation to fully penetrate, resulting in a crunchier, more satisfying texture.
  • Soda
    • Soda is another essential ingredient, but if you don't have any, plain carbonated water will also work.
That said, using soda adds a fizzy, sweet flavor to the jelly, making it even more fun to eat! You'll want enough soda to fully cover the gummies. Sprite, Coke, or any other soda you like will do the trick-just use your favorite!

Review:

  • I've never tried the original Swedish Jelly, but this recipe gave me an idea of what the texture might be like.
After soaking the gummies in soda for a day, they absorbed the carbonation and expanded in size. It felt like frozen soda with a unique twist! The freezing process made the gummies lose some of their chewiness, but they still had a fun, bouncy texture.
The icy crunch combined with the fizz from the soda created a refreshing, unique snack.
Plus, the fruity flavors from the Haribo gummies gave it a fun, candy-like vibe that reminded me of a fruity Swedish Jelly.
While the taste was enjoyable, it's definitely a lot of effort for a snack. My overall score? 2 out of 5.
That said, if you have kids, this is a fun activity to try together!
They'll love the process and enjoy the playful, crunchy texture of the jelly.
